Candidate for
Council Member; City of Sunnyvale; Seat 2

I have a strong grassroots support in Sunnyvale -- for example the President of Sunnyvale Pop Warner, the President of Little League Baseball, the Commissioner of the Bicycle Committee, President of the India Community Center, many small business owners, educators, and community volunteers. I have made it a point of building a core of grass roots supporters rather than focusing on gaining the recognition of political leaders.

The reason I have such as large grass roots support bases is that I lived in Sunnyvale for 21 years, and have been very active in helping support many activities in the community. For example, I coached youth soccer and youth basketball; I have helped many people through my volunteer work in the alcohol and drug recovery program; and I was nominated as Volunteer of the Year for helping elderly people. I have set an example of leadership and civic responsibility to my children. My son was a teacher at Fremont High School last year, and my daughter is the Director of Sunnyvale Pop Warner Cheerleaders.
