EMERYVILLE CITY COUNCILIt has been an honor serving as your Councilmember since 1992. As a 32-year resident, I'm proud of Emeryville's dynamic accomplishments. Well-planned redevelopment has been the cornerstone of financial stability and important city services for child development, recreation, senior programs, paramedic services, expanding parks and free buses. We now need to focus on further quality of life improvements in our neighborhoods, including: a park along the Doyle Street Greenway; artistic gates, Temescal Park improvements, and traffic calming in the Triangle; a visual/performing arts center and a park for the Park Avenue neighborhood. Our most important ongoing challenge is continuing the city's joint efforts with the schools to successfully create a Center for Community Life, thereby dramatically improving our schools, while creating a center for comprehensive services and programs for everyone in Emeryville. Citywide, I'll continue my leadership to attract neighborhood-serving stores and restaurants, and to promote public art, increased greenery, quality design and creative traffic management. I encourage your participation, value your support, and ask for your vote on November 8th so we can continue working together to further improve our city. I love Emeryville and would cherish the opportunity to continue serving as your Councilmember. |
