As a Director on the Board I would use my technical knowledge and government experience to protect and serve the community's interests and needs from a reasonable and sensitive perspective. I would work to protect the diversity of our community's economic and social composition and would also provide for the smart growth of the community that can reasonably and responsibly be provided. This will demand effective communication lines and cooperation between the LOCSD and County Supervisors and their Planning and Public Works Departments as well as other State and Federal agencies involved.
The main concerns about the current wastewater project is that it would establish a new economic bar under which a significant portion of this community would simply be unable to pass. It will effectively uproot many and cause economic hardship for many others. It would also pose an unnecessary risk to the community and an eyesore forevermore.
