- Over the past 20+ years, I have developed and managed projects ranging from a few million dollars to over a billion dollars.

- I seek to develop a school district that is run by the parents, for the benefits of the students and community.
- The fiscal irresponsibility of the current board must be addressed. We must move to zero-based budgeting as per the Assoc of School Business Officials
- I support refocusing efforts on the basics, and taking a long, hard look at the current curriculum through the eyes of the parents and the community.

- Revenue Enhancements Can't Be The Whole Answer

To think that Redondo Beach schools can operate on donations -- either corporate or private -- is to engage in a fantasy. RBUSD should aggressively employ contract grant writers and approach local corporations, however, that revenue is unstable and cannot be relied upon for core expenditures. A balanced budget, built up from a zero-based philosophy is the only way to assure the long term success of the district.
- End The Politicization Of Our Schools

Beginning with the last Board election where unions poured thousands into a campaign to "win a teacher-friendly majority" -- and continuing with the current million dollar CTA PR blitz over the airwaves -- education has become far too political for the KIDS' good. It's time to put the power back in the hands of the community and parents and take it away from bureaucrats and special interest groups.

- The Parcel Tax Is The Best Way To Increase Revenues, If Needed

Without thorough analysis, it isn't clear that RBUSD needs more money. If it does, the answer isn't handouts and donations, the answer is a compelling argument to the voters to implement a parcel tax. With over 30,000 units in Redondo Beach, a $100 annual parcel tax would raise $3M. This tax should ONLY be implemented if RBUSD's Board implements strict Board level resolutions for its expenditure.
