The questions were prepared by the LWV Cincinnati Area and asked of all candidates for this office.
Read the answers from all candidates.
1. What are your qualifications for office?
I am a practicing real estate attorney with over twenty-five years experience. For twelve years I worked in the Recorder's office on a daily basis as a title examiner. In addition, I managed a national title company for seven years with responsibility for offices in three states.
2. How would you implement your top priority?
My top priority is to establish maximum efficiency at minimum cost to the taxpayer. I would accomplish this through a combination of employee education, improvement in the data entry system, making available the text of documents online, and establishing an ongoing committee of regular users of the office to help insure all of these improvements.
3. What do you see as the two most pressing issues you would address if elected? What plans do you have relative to those issues?
The two most pressing issues are delays in the recording and return of documents, and the correction of errors in the data entry system. I will allocate staffing and institute quality controls to insure prompt return of documents.I will institute training and standards for data entry personnel to alleviate errors, and will make the text of public documents available online to facilitate real estate transactions. These efficiencies will save taxpayer dollars.
