Top Priorities if Elected |
- Our nation's economy must be strengthened to insure long-term job growth. This Administration economic policies are fiscally irresponsible.
- Education is the key to America's future, and we must provide the resources to assure our children's education.
- Our environment - air, water, our coast, open space - must be protected from an Administration that sacrifices our environment to special interests.

- Improving Transportation
-
Transportation is a key element of my congressional agenda + federal funding for public transportation and improving our roads and bridges, assuring federal funding for the extension of BART to the San Francisco International Airport, reducing transportation emissions for cleaner air, and reducing aircraft noise in areas near the Airport.
- Protecting our Environment
-
I have been a strong and consistent voice for protecting our nation's environment - no rollback of environmental laws, no oil drilling off the California coast, protection of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, assure that we have clean air and clean water, take action to stop global warming, and polluters must pay to clean up Superfund sites.
- Quality Education
-
As a former professor for three decades at San Francisco State Unaiversity, I am committed to improving the quality of public education by adding new teachers and reducing class size, assuring necessary federal funding for our schools, and making college affordable and available to all.
