1. What can be done to ensure that California gets its fair share of federal resources?
|
Answer from Alice Stek:
There are plenty of federal resources in this wealthy country. When we drastically cut the military budget and increase the contributions from large wealthy corporations, we will be able to fund quality healthcare and education for all people in all states. We can end poverty and homelessness, provide everyone with a living wage or universal basic income, and a dignified life.
We can help ensure California gets its fair share by obtaining an accurate census that counts all California residents.
2. What are your foreign policy priorities for the United States?
|
Answer from Alice Stek:
Peace.
International cooperation, not US imperialism.
Export peaceful technology, science, education, medical care, not weapons and interventions. End US occupation of Iran and Afghanistan now. End US support of oppressive regimes.
Become part of the international community. Join all the international treaties.
Join the International Criminal Court.
Eliminate the debts of developing countries.
Work for social and economic justice throughout the world.
3. What are your priorities for the federal budget?
|
Answer from Alice Stek:
Divert the miltary budget to meet human needs such as health care, education, housing, transportation, environmental protection in the USA (and then in the rest of the world).
Free health care and education for all.
Create and fund a Department of Peace.
Wealthy corporations and individuals to pay their fair share.
Social ownership and democratic management of industry and natural resources.
