1. What can be done to ensure that California gets its fair share of federal resources?
|
Answer from Robert M. Levy:
All members of Congress (Rpublican and Democrat) must unite to insure that no major military or civilian project is funded unless the are sustantial jobs for California. We are the largest delegation in Congress. If we unite, the delegation would force more funding for California jobs and infrastructure.
2. What are your foreign policy priorities for the United States?
|
Answer from Robert M. Levy:
International trade must be Both FAIR as well as free. We must give favorable tariff treatment to countries who pay their workers a high enough wage to buy American exports. The Congress must refocus its trade policy toward greater American control of American trade policy and less control by the World Trade Organization.
We must also secure our borders, making sure that illegal immigration and overseas out-sourcing do not combine to destroy our economy. We must provide incentives for entertainment production to remain in Southern California.
Also, we must insure the survival and prosperity of our Mid-East allies such as Israel and the democratic forces working for change in other Middle-Eastern Countries.
3. What are your priorities for the federal budget?
|
Answer from Robert M. Levy:
We must refocus the federal budget away from subsidies, social programs and Corporate Welfare. The federal budget should be directed toward building hard infrastructure such as better roads, transit systems and other projects which create jobs and last for decades. The best welfare is a job, and job creation through public works helps to balance our budget by creating more self sufficient taxpayers.
