This information is provided by the candidate |
CANDIDATE'S STATEMENT Daniel J. Ullyot Age: 68 Occupation: Retired Physician Education and Qualifications: I have a long-standing commitment to the health care needs of our community. I founded the cardiac surgery program at Peninsula Hospital in 1978 and served as Director until my retirement in 2001. I know the needs of a community hospital in providing medical, obstetric, pediatric, surgical, laboratory, blood banking, and emergency room services. I pledge my support for Mills-Peninsula Hospital meeting the highest standards. I have resided in the District since 1978 and will insure that the Peninsula Health Care District Board faithfully represents the interests of this diverse community. It must oversee the lease arrangements with Sutter and keep the hospital administration responsive to the needs and aspirations of the community, including the underserved. Taxes collected must be applied responsibly, and we must attract outstanding physicians and nurses to live and work in the community. I began my career as a faculty member of the University of California, San Francisco. I served as President of the American College of Cardiology, and President of the Western Thoracic Surgical Society. The leadership skills acquired during my career will be useful to the Peninsula Health Care District Board. I have no conflicts of interest. I ask for your support and for your vote. |
