I grew up in what were small towns, Venice, Ocean Park, Culver City, Altadena, Catalina and El Segundo, CA as well as Kodiak, Alaska.
I attended school in Culver City, Altadena, Catalina, CA, and Kodiak, Alaska. I graduated from Torrance High School after one year in El Segundo, CA.
I did my nursing studies at Los Angeles County Hospital School of Nursing with classes at East LA Community College and LA College. I attended PCC and LA State. I completed a full course of study in Early Childhood Education at Mt. Sac. My professional career took me from a Surgical Critical Room to CCU, ICU, ER, MICU, extended care, back office and clinic including telephone Triage, Utilization Review, Home Care including Hospice and Home IV Therapy. I was certified in IV and IV catheter insertion, all of the specialities listed, CPR and CPR Instructor, EKG and cardiac monitor interpetation and instruction and Basic CCU Instruction.
I have three children and six grandchildren. My partner has three children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. We moved to Arroyo Grande in 1994.
