Board Member; Alum Rock Union School District; 4 Year Term

In July 2004, Tanya Freudenberger was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Alum Rock Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees. The appointment was clearly a result of Tanya's longtime efforts on the frontline as a VOLUNTEER within the Alum Rock District. With the recent retirement announcement of Superintendent Anaya, the Board faces the immediate challenge of hiring a replacement. Tanya is ready to accept this challenge and, as a Board member, has already demonstrated her commitment to foster teamwork, good communication, and maintain a focus on student achievement. She is currently a member of the Alum Rock Youth Advisory Board, the Alum Rock Educational Foundation, the Children & Families First Commission,and P.A.C.T. As the parent of two children educated within the Alum Rock District and East Side Union High School District, she previously acted as a fund raiser, a reading tutor to fifth graders, an organizer of the upgrade to the Joseph George Middle School library, and supporter of the Overfelt High School jazz band.

During these activities, Tanya has demonstrated her CARING and COMPASSIONATE nature, encouraging students, parents, teachers, and co-workers with her BOUNDLESS ENERGY.
