Loves Willow Glen A long-time Willow Glen resident, Pam Foley is the mother of a third grader in the San Jose Unified School District, a successful business owner, school and community volunteer. Her husband, Mike, grew up in Willow Glen, attending Lincoln Glen Elementary (now the Senior Center), Markham (Willow Glen Middle) and Willow Glen High School. True Leadership Skills Pam is a born leader and has devoted much of her time to service in professional and community organizations. She served as president of the Women's Council of Realtors in 1990 and as president of the San Jose Real Estate Board in 1998. Today, she is a director of the California Association of Realtors (150,000 members) where she is vice-chairman of Strategic Planning and Finance committee. From 1991-1996, Pam volunteered and eventually chaired Women and their Children's Housing (WATCH), a non-profit helping domestic violence victims with transitional housing. In 2000, Pam joined the Rotary Club of San Jose, where she immediately became chairman of the red badgers (first year Rotarians) and led a project to build a home for Habitat for Humanity. Through her Rotary involvement, Pam has had the opportunity to chair the International Youth Exchange Program, which brings young people to San Jose and gives students here the opportunity to live overseas. Last year, Pam chaired the Enterprise Leadership Program, which mentors 88 high school juniors in business develoment. Parent and School Volunteer, Pam is no stranger to San Jose Unified Schools. Her daughter, Katelin, attends Hacienda Environmental Science Magnet Elementary School, located close to Cherry and Hillsdale. Pam has served as president of the school site council, is a weekly classroom volunteer, is active in the parent's organization and is an active fundraiser for the school. |
