By W. M. "Martie" Killough

Candidate for Council Member; City of Beaumont

This information is provided by the candidate
Honesty, Integrity, Responsibility. I listen, I care.
I have been active in the Pass Community since retiring from Riverside County. I worked for the Sheriff's Office, County Personnel and Department of Public Social Services Personnel. I am on the Oktoberfest Committee, Watershed Commission, Beaumont Soroptimists International, Order of Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, San Gorgonio Pass Amateur Radio Club, Pass Community Emergency Response System, Amateur Radio Emergency Response System, RTA NOW, San Gorgonio Pass Republican Women Federation and an alternate on Western Regional Council of Governments. I call Bingo at the Elks' Lodge once a month and I visit my father, who is in a Health Care Facility, daily. I was on the Beaumont Planning Commission for three years prior to being appointed to the City Council in January 2003. I was a member of the Veteran's Memorial Committee, and the Beautification Committee among others. I am married and I have 2 beautiful daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren. I am personally responsible for our cell phone towers looking like trees, our new traffic lights to have sound added to them for the visually impaired, our crosswalks to have diagonal lines so that they are more noticeable. I would like to improve safety for all of our citizens and make it easier for them to shop locally. I will maintain an open door policy.
