Managed Growth

By Deborah "Debbie" Franklin

Candidate for Council Member; City of Banning

This information is provided by the candidate
Banning is in need of more retail and commercial development yet residential growth needs to be limited to maintain the small town atmosphere many residents enjoy and want to preserve
Retail and commercial light industry that is environment friendly is crucial to the long term success of our city. Aggressive measures are needed to create the environment necessary for a grocery store on east Ramsey street as well as the development of the entire Ramsey street corridor. City practices and procedures need to become more customer friendly. Long term visions and goals need to be determined and then a priority list made and followed to completion. City codes and ordinances need to be reviewed to make sure they are up to date and reasonable, given today's climate. The community's voice needs to be listened to, and considered when making changes and/or deciding where and how to spend city funds.
