As a resident and business owner in Los Alamitos since 1988, I want to represent YOU on our City Council. Currently, I chair the Traffic Commission and work with residents to solve the number one complaint in our community -- Traffic Gridlock. We must agressively work with neighboring cities (Cypress and Seal Beach) and the County of Orange to promote safe and efficient traffic flow in Los Alamitos.

Challenges are facing our City, with the recent departure of key management staff, and the need for strong new leadership at City Hall - especially with increased financial demands and limited resources. It is my goal to blend our small town charm with the need for increased tax-generating businesses. As a businessman for the past 25 years, I have the operational and financial skills needed.

For more than 30 months, I have attended every meeting of our City Council, to learn more about the operations of our community. I am fortunate that as a Board Member with the Chamber of Commerce, I'm able to also receive the Council packet in order to keep educated about the issues and matters before our Council. I have also attended most of the Planning Commission meetings, as well as the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Cultural Affairs Commission meetings -- all to learn more about the various operations of Los Alamitos and how our residents are served.

I had the opportunity in the spring of 2003 to attend the 10-week Citizen Police Academy, where officers from our department outlined the various functions and services afforded to residents and businesses. This included presentations by the various sections of the department (patrol, traffic, detectives and administrative). We were able to participate in actual scenarios in the use of weapons, police interaction with the public and at crime scenes. I have also had the pleasure to ride-along with officers in their daily field duties.

Like you, this is my home and my town. My wife and I love the small town charm. We walk regularly with our "son", Kody (a three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier) and feel safe and protected. As your Council Member, I will work to continue to retain this quality of family life for all our citizens and businesses. For more than two years, I have worked to prepare myself for this challenge and with your support and vote, we can work together to protect and shape Los Alamitos for our future.

I am a member and active volunteer with our Youth Center, serving on their Board of Directors and was co-chair this past year of their community support drive which raised more than $175,000 to aid operations of this valuable service to our young residents. Event Medical Services is a proud financial support of the Los Alamitos Pop Warner Football teams and the Precious Life Shelter in our city.
