- THE TIMES, Which has Near Monopolistic Control Over SRV Daily Print Media, has not Covered the Monthly SRVFPD Board Meetings for Years
-
Ralph Hoffmann believes in Freedom of the Press. The daily print media should cover monthly Board meetings of the 130,000 person SRVFPD. THE TIMES, having near monopolistic coverage of the SRV hasn't covered the SRVFPD Board Meetings for years. Was an expensive, glossy, taxpayer paid "Fire Line", received in homes less than a week before the election, with names of the incumbent Board on the outer cover, worth the money? If elected I'll try to correct these things.
- Campaign to Combat the Discrimination and Stigma Persons with Mental Illness Face in the Western World
-
Ralph Hoffmann overcame severe mental illness, and may yet win a Nobel Prize for efforts combatting discrimination of the mentally ill, working on several USA fronts to combat this discrimination. Ironically, persons of high achievement have had mental illnesses. I seek to eliminate the discrimination, just as women gained the right to vote in the USA in 1920, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Cesar Chavez gained rights for Blacks and Latinos in the last half of the 20th Century.
- Ralph Scores Victories for First Amendment Rights of Freedom of Speech and Press, Seniors Access to Health Care
-
By applying pressure Ralph had the Election Preview playback schedule for CCTV changed to only races where there is sufficient countywide interest. Ralph was helped by the Board of Supervisors, the County Election Office, CCTV Staff, and LWV-DV to make the changes possible. Ralph defended frail Seniors rights to get a flu shot after they stood in line for 5 hrs. at COSTCO and Albertson's in Danville by his "No Senior Left Behind Policy," and to eat nutritious fruit instead of cookies, cake.
