While serving as an instructor at Merritt, I was struck by the educational hunger of my students. I knew that only quality education would satisfy this need.
As a psychologist, I know the learning process does not begin and end in the classroom. Top-notch facilities, solid funding, appropriate curriculum, legislative action, and strong oversight fuel it. I bring 15 years of experience in these areas, including leadership skills, policy development, and multimillion-dollar budget management.
I am a consensus builder, and will tackle the tough issues confronting Peralta. I have served on many boards and commissions in my community, and am dedicated to public service. As a community activist, I will fight for high student achievement and access to quality education for everyone. I have lived in this district for 24 years.
I am endorsed by incumbent, Susan Duncan, students, educators, elected officials, and most importantly community members.
As your Trustee, I will work to ensure that my leadership is student centered, visionary, and inclusive of all partners of Peralta- community, students, faculty, and employees. I will work with an innovative vision for growth, improved technological advancement, and collaboration with other educational institutions.
I respectfully ask for your vote.
