ANDY VISOKEY Age: 41 Aerospace Contract Administrator NOT JUST WORDS As a candidate for reelection to the Lancaster City Council, I encourage you to examine my words and my actions over the past six years of service. I believe you will find that my words and deeds are consistent, and that I represent with integrity the citizens who elected me. I say what I believe, and do as I say. Lancaster's citizens deserve nothing less. QUALITY OF LIFE During my six years of service on the Council, our city helped create thousands of new, well-paying jobs by expanding our industrial base. We added a Wal-Mart shopping center for east Lancaster, and we have approved a new commercial center, anchored by Lowe's, on 10th Street West at Avenue K. Three new parks are being created, and a 15-field youth baseball complex is under development. Because of our recreational opportunities, Lancaster is one of our nation's friendliest cities for families and children. SAFETY I have always supported public safety as a first priority for local government. It is my goal to make Lancaster the safest California city with a population of over 100,000. I will work to substantially increase the number of sheriff's deputies on our streets. COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY You deserve elected leaders who will stand up for your interests and way of life. That is why I fight to ensure that your tax dollars are used wisely. I have consistently voted against tax increases, and speak out against government waste. I am proud to have been described as "an anti-tax advocate." LOOKING AHEAD While I am proud of Lancaster's accomplishments, there is much to be done. Our city needs to expand the job base, attract more retail shopping, find financing for more sheriff's deputies, and make sound fiscal choices to deliver quality municipal services without higher taxes. MAKING A DIFFERENCE Lancaster has been my home for 35 years. I grew up in Lancaster, attended its public schools, and attend church here. I met and married my wonderful wife, Donna, in this community where we are raising our three sons. I care deeply what happens to our community, and with your continued support, I look forward to continuing to make a difference on the City Council. I would be honored if you would vote for me, ANDY VISOKEY, for Lancaster City Council. |
