Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Lancaster

Andrew D. Visokey was elected to the City Council of Lancaster in April 1998 and re-elected in 2000. A Southern California native, Visokey moved to Lancaster in 1969 and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1981. He earned his Associate's Degree from Antelope Valley College in 1993 and his Bachelor's Degree in organizational management at the Master's College in Santa Clarita in 2000. He currently works as a contract administrator for Northrop Grumman. In 1991, at the age of 28, Visokey became the youngest person ever elected to the Lancaster School District Governing Board. Re-elected in 1995, he served as the Board President in 1996 and as treasurer of the Antelope Valley School Boards Association from 1996 to 1998. He is active within the Republican organizational network, having served two terms as President of the conservative Antelope Valley Republican Assembly. He has twice been elected to the Los Angeles County Republican Central Committee, 36th Assembly District, where he served as Treasurer and currently is the Chairman. In 2003 Visokey accepted a presidential appointment to the Selective Service Board. He was selected "because of demonstrated patriotism, fidelity and abilities." Active in the local community, Visokey coaches youth sports. He has served in leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America and helps to raise funds for charitable organizations. He also serves on the Boards of several non-profit organizations. Council Member Visokey and his wife, Donna, live in Lancaster with their three sons, Andrew, Adam, Nathan.
