1. What does California need to do to address the current budget crisis?
|
Answer from Brenda Carol Green:
We need a spending cap and an amendment to our state Constitution for a balanced budget.
2. What should the state's priorities be for K-12 education? For the Community College System?
|
Answer from Brenda Carol Green:
Make sure that the money we are giving to schools is accounted for. We spend three times as much money on our kids than Catholic schools do for their children yet our children are far behind their Catholic schoolmates. Obviously throwing money at the problem is not the answer. We have to have a serious analysis of how our schools have failed our children and fix it.
3. What measures would you support to address California's water needs?
|
Answer from Brenda Carol Green:
I would like to see water plants built in low-income neighborhoods that would have underground pipelines to the ocean. We could use that abundant resource to convert ocean water into purified drinking water. This would provide jobs to communities that desparately need them and it would provide Californians with an unlimited water supply.
4. What should the Legislature be doing to address the needs of Californians without health insurance?
