My Official Candidate StatementBy Kermit MarshCandidate for Supervisor; County of Orange; Supervisorial District 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
It is time for a change on the Board of Supervisors! My name is Kermit Marsh, and I offer the experience and leadership to protect taxpayers and improve county government. EXPERIENCE - Lifelong Orange County resident. Westminster City Councilman since 1998. Garden Grove Hospital Board Member. Professional practice in Santa Ana. Former District Chairman, Boy Scouts of America. Former President, Westminster Boys and Girls Club. Married. Blessed with two children.
LEADERSHIP - During my five years on the City Council, I have built a reputation as a conservative leader who gets results: Endorsed by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Westminster Mayor Margie Rice, Councilman Russ Paris and Garden Grove Councilman Bill Dalton. As a City Councilman, I have NEVER voted for a tax increase. As your County Supervisor, I will work to hold government accountable and provide leadership that benefits our entire community. My priorities are: REFORMING WASTEFUL GOVERNMENT - Audit county departments to eliminate waste. Require competitive bidding for all county contracts. Our families live within our means, so should government. PROTECTING NEIGHBORHOODS - Support tougher law enforcement measures to expand neighborhood patrols and protect residents from gangs, drugs and acts of violence. Endorsed by the Westminster Police Officers Association. CREATING JOBS - Attract good paying new jobs by reducing excessive fees on business, lowering energy costs and eliminating government red tape. Endorsed by South Santa Ana Merchants Association President Otto Bade. SUPPORTING EDUCATION - Make our schools safer and ensure that all our children are prepared for the future by being able to read and write in English. Endorsed by Garden Grove School Board President Bob Harden and Westminster School Board President James Reed and Vice President Helena Rutkowski. REDUCING TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK - Improve the Garden Grove and 55 Freeways! Require county transportation monies to be spent on roads and highways - not on costly mass transit schemes! You deserve a Supervisor who is honest, effective and accessible. I ask for your vote to build a better future for Orange County. Kermit Marsh (714) 901-2012 |
