Candidate for
Member Council; City of Blue Ash

I,m a cyclist and walker so being safe is important, the need of being connected in a community is important. Blue Ash lacks in this area, one only has to travel Cooper Rd.west of Plainfield to find a poor or nonexsistent bikepath, this repeats itself on Hunt Rd. as well as Gleendale/Milford Rd. It's like Blue Ash isolates from neighboring communities west of the city. We have a fine Nture Park with super programs a wonderful summer series of music on Tues. and Fridays. The Sports comlex is great for organised sports.We lack parks with ponds and dog runnig areas, the focus has been on office buildings- which remain with lots of open leasing space. We do not need another office building, we need to listen to our parks and recreation people on their needs and quit cutting their budget ever year. The Blue Ash Airport is a jewel that we can purchase, the longer we drag our feet the more the ptice goes up, we could use coperate sponseship to maintain this land and build a 100 acre park that would fit most needs, dog run, skatepark, laplanes,tennis barn, small meeting center, something for everyone, the wish list goes on, the key is willingness to change and move forward with an aggesive plan for the future. Being fiscaly responsible is a key, the new firehouse overun of $500,000.00 so far has been met with finger pointing instead of City Council saying they were not watching the money, this is everybodys job not just one person who doesn't work for the city anymore. As a councilperson I will work for the people and ask questions about how we spend the money, no more"this is a sound project let's go ahed" the old rubber stamp method, this method gets a city into overuns. I have served the comminity for over 12 years in many capacities,on mamy commitees, this is why I feel I'm a great fit for council. Thank you,Duncan G. Caldwell
