Completing the New Library on time and within the budgetBy Deborah C. BarrettCandidate for Council Member; City of Cupertino | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The Cupertino Library has long been one of our most precious community assetsFor many years the Cupertino Library has served the community well. Not only is the library invaluable to our students and seniors, but it also serves as a community meeting place. While the temporary library provides some access to books, magazines, newspapers and the internet, much of the catalog has limited availability because it is in storage. The new library will not only make all stored items available again, but will increase internet access. Thus it is important to finish the project as soon as possible. While completion of the new library is vitally important to this community, in lean economic times such as we are currently experiencing it is imperative to build, stock and staff it within strict budget limits. If elected, I will work closely with the Library Commission to accomplish these goals. |
