My interest in Fairfax politics and culture sparked during my first days after moving from San Francisco with my wife Idie and 2 year-old son Jake at the beginning of 1996. I opened my own environmental law office and was appointed to the Planning Commission that year, and soon joined the Board of the Marin Conservation League and the adjunct faculty at Dominican University. Adding to the many cultural events in Town, I started up the Fairfax Documentary Film Festival in 1999 to screen the work of local filmmakers. This past year I've joined with former mayors, planning commissioners, and 250 concerned citizens to establish the Fairfax Civic League, a new organization advancing solutions to many of the issues confronting Town government.
