My wife Bett and I have lived in Castaic for more than 17 years. We originally lived in the apartments on Ridge Route opposite the old school building. At that time I became ivolved in the then "parks" committee. We then lived in Val Verde for several years and now live in the Live Oak School area. I have had the opportuniy to work with individuals in all areas of Castaic. Our sons, Danny and Richard, attended K-8 here. Our daughter Elizabeth is at CMS in the sixth grade. Bett has substitute taught in the district for the last three years and currently teaches full time at Valencia High School. I believe a board member's job is to act on behalf of the greatest treasure of a community, its children. All children are entitled to the opportuniy to develop their individual talents through the best combination of academic, arts, vocational and physical education available. I beleive that being in the the service of your family and community is an honor and a privilege. My only "agenda" is to determine what is the best for the children of Castaic and work on implementing that plan with our great team of parents, teachers and staff. I believe the district is currently on the correct path and anticipate continuing this course. |
