a proven record of public service ... • Majority Counsel, Subcommittee on Criminal Law, U. S. Senate Judiciary Committee (19S3 - 1985) • Deputy Assistant Attorney General, U. S. Department of Justice (in the Administration of President Ronald Reagan) • Associate White House Counsel under President George H. W. Bush • First Chief of Staff and Legal Counsel to Congressman Steve Chabot (OH-1 ) ... and a commitment to the rule of law Fred Nelson graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, where he won the award for best advocate and was Executive Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. Fred Nelson also practiced with the law firm of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister (civil litigation) and taught a semester each as an adjunct at UC's College of Law (Trial Practice) and NKU's Chase College of Law (Constitutional Law). He now runs his own small business (Civic Solutions, LLC) and co-produces Channel 9's HotSeat. Fred Nelson is profiled in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law. His volunteer work for legal reform in Ukraine and Russia with the American Bar Association's Central and Eastern Law Initiative has underscored his commitment to the rule of law. He serves on Ohio's Board on Uniform State Laws and on the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, and he is a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judical Conference. |
