Marsha Vas Dupre was elected to the Santa Rosa City Council in 1998. During her tenure, she has championed open government, clean air, preservation of hillsides, ridgetops and creek corridors, low-cost housing, alternative transportation, and a living wage for all Santa Rosans.
She is a retired educator from Santa Rosa City Schools, a twenty-nine year resident of Santa Rosa and a native of Dayton, Ohio. She holds a BS degree in Education from The Ohio State University, masters degrees in Curriculum & Supervision and Counseling & Guidance from Wright State University, and a Ph.D. in Counseling & Guidance from The Ohio State University. Her twenty-year career with Santa Rosa City Schools was as a counselor and reading specialist at Santa Rosa Junior High, Lincoln and Monroe Elementary Schools. She has two grown children and is married to Jack Dupre, a strategic business consultant for Agilent Technologies. They are active members of the Santa Rosa Symphony Association and the First United Methodist Church.
