Quality of life, cost overruns of Lopez Dam retrofit, broadcasting meetings.
- Maintaining Oceano's quality of life is a top priority. We need strong and committed representation to address our flooding problems, prevent overcrowding and protect of resident's health and safety.
- The cost overruns of the Lopez Dam retrofit project pose a potential significant problem for Oceano and it's Zone 3 neighbors. This makes it all the more important to be fiscally conservative and avoid passing on unnnecessary costs to district ratepayers.
- During the brief period which the meetings of the O.C.S.D. board were televised, the community's interest and involvement grew significantly. I believe this is the best way to create and maintain support for cooperation with, and understanding of the district's board and the services provided by the staff and employees. Broadcasting community meetings is and affordable and positive way of enabling the people of Oceano to participate in, and be accurately informed about how the community's business is conducted.
