ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS POSED TO CANDIDATES BY A LOCAL CITIZEN Answers by Eddie K. Doll October 13, 2002 1. What is your primary reason for running for this office? Having Heritage Ranch remain an affordable place to live, by keeping spending in check and prices for water, sewer and trash in line. 2. What prior experience in public office, elected or appointed, have you had? I haven't had experience in public office, but I feel my skills as a building contractor for 22 years qualify me for the position. 3. What is your highest educational accomplishment? Two years in a Junior College 4. What occupation do you now have? I am a building contractor. As owner of my own business I have had as many as 14 employees and have built an average of 6-7 houses per year. I have had to coordinate with the city on where sewer and water lines are located. Plans don't always work so I've had to negotiate with the subs to reach the conclusion of the project. Many times I've had to look at alternatives to keep the house in budget. 5. What volunteer activities have you pursued here at Heritage Ranch? Although I was never on the Activities Committee I helped out whenever I could. 6. What are your strengths of character? High standards are one of the first things that come to mind. "It's good enough" is not a phrase allowed in my business. I take a great deal of pride in the homes I build and quality is of utmost importance. Other strengths are: thoughtful of others, finances, I am "quick to listen # slow to act." 7. Are you a supporter of the leadership and/or policies of the Concerned Property Owners? I am concerned about the community I live in, but am not a member of any group. I am an independent thinker. |
