Arguments For Measure O-02 | Arguments Against Measure O-02 |
Your "YES" vote on this measure will provide funding for an
expansion to the Arroyo Grande Fire Station. Important facilities are
needed to provide fire protection in a safe and effective manner.
Therefore, this measure is necessary for the Fire Department to
continue providing a high level of service in the most economical way.
The existing station was constructed in 1980. At that time, it served an all-volunteer fire force. Since then, calls have increased by 723%, and the facility now houses a combination of paid and volunteer staff on a 24-hour basis. As a result, a number of needs now exist that were not considered when the station was built:
The community depends on our firefighters to prevent fires and protect life and property. Now the firefighters are depending on you to provide the basic needs and requirements to do their job. Your City Council strongly urges you to vote "YES" on Measure O-02. s/ Michael A. Lady s/ Thomas A. Runels, Mayor Mayor Pro Tem s/ Jim Dickens s/ Tony M.
