"It makes sense to have a school board member with children currently enrolled in our school district." As a native Santa Marian, a banker for over 20 years, and a proud parent of two "GATE" children attending our public schools, I feel the time has come to have a board member with first hand knowledge of what our children are facing in our public education system. We need school board members who play an active roll in the community. School board members need to be seen and not just heard! I feel as an active member at Cary Calvin Oakley School, El Camino Jr. High School, and other non profit agencies, I can improve the district's relationship within our community. Currently, our district has failed to promote the "positives" within our schools. |
