A Danville Park Commissioner since 1986, DeAtley played a major role in the acquisition and development of Sycamore Valley, Diablo Vista and Hap Magee Ranch parks. She has been a consistent proponent of mexxed use park facilities to include state of the art sports fields, play ares and passive recreation areas. She serves as liaison the Danville Planning Commission whre she is an advocate for managed, well planned growth. She helped write the Dowtown Beautification Plan.

Ms. DeAtley is President of the Board of Directors of the San Ramon Valley School Age Child Care Alliance ("Kids Country"), Chairman of the Boaard of Directors of the Danville Band, board member of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and Co-Chair of its Government Relations Committee. She is past president of the Danville Area Cultural Alliance, former chair of the Front Street Arts Festival and a founding member of the San Ramon Valley Sports Alliance. She is a rrecipient of the Danville Aarts Volunteer of the Year Award and was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and San Ramon Valley Times as a Danville Citizen of the Year.

In addition to her civic responsibilites, Ms. DeAtley is Administrative Vice President of California Sun Dry Foods. She and her husband, Gary, have three grown children: Captain David DeAtley, 82nd Airborne, Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; Noelle DeAtley, Columbia, South Carolina, and Dallas DeAtley, an Integration Engineer for Apple Computer, Inc.
