Quality Of LifeBy Charles R "Chuck" McGlawnCandidate for United States Representative; District 40; Libertarian Party | |

UN-DO the mess caused by the federal government's tinkering with the lives of citizens.I will not be seeking the position of your Congressman in the new 40th Congressional District. I want to be the first Un-Congressman for this new 40th Congressional District. The problems of next two years, in fact the next two decades, can not be addressed by what we can DO. They can only be addressed by what we must Un-DO. In the 1950s a family of 4, with only one breadwinner earning a medium income, could, if they lived carefully, buy a home, drive a nice car, dress fashionably AND AFFORD MEDICAL CARE. But it wasn't easy. Then Republicans and Democrats (I like to call them Doers) did look into the problem. And over the years the Doers have legislated minimum wage laws, guaranteed annual incomes, tax credits, tax incentives, war on poverty. Layer upon layer of laws obstensibility to improve the quality of life. And the end result of all this DOING is now it requires two medium incomes to just get by. |
