Dear Neighbors: My commitment and goals for the future of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department is to establish a community-based law enforcement approach by bringing our deputies into a partnership with the community they serve. My areas of focus will be increasing law enforcement presence, drug education and awareness in our schools. Expand the DARE (drug abuse resistance education) program and make it available to all grade levels. Increasing narcotics enforcement, activating Neighborhood Watch and Crimestoppers Programs to work in a collaborative effort with law enforcement to solve and assist in criminal investigations. Using state-of-the art technology by our deputies and dispatchers for increased efficiency in their communications and more expedient service for our citizens. Increase satellite stations and add resident posts in specific outlying areas for heightened safety and welfare for those residents who are more isolated, as well as implementing methods and procedures to shorten officer response times. My philosophy is fundamental - to protect and serve our citizens. My objective is to offer a more approachable and accessible department and ensure fair and equitable treatment for everyone. My aim is to implement a back-to-the basics approach to the lifelong business of hometown law enforcement. I am dedicated to making El Dorado County a safe and protected place to live. I would appreciate your support and vote on election day March 5, 2002. Sincerely, Larry Hennick |
