Solving local problems at the regional level - disaster planning, traffic, housingBy Rick OchsenhirtCandidate for Councilmember; City of South San Francisco | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
In today's economy, many of our problems do not originate within our city limits, nor do they end there. We share the problems of traffic gridlock, a shortage of workforce housing and the need for improved disaster and emergency service with many other communities on the Peninsula. We must be represented regionally by strong, knowledgeble representatives to those governmental bodies that make decisions about disaster planning, public transportation, airport noise, and other regional matters that impact our property and our lives. We need to send people with a high level of experience and background to protect South San Francisco's interests. I have gained that background and experience through my work as a Planning Commissioner and a Park and Recreation Commissioner. My years as a South San Francisco homeowner and my involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and other professional and civic groups have given me insight on our community and what our residents want and what the city needs to solve these problems. I will work hard for you at both the local and regional level. |
