Who am I? (Welcome to Ian Schatz's life)

The past 4 years of my life have been the most enlightening of all my years. As a stay at home father, I have learned firsthand how challenging and rewarding the imparting of knowledge to children can be. As I have recently returned to the world of the full time workplace, allowing my wife a chance to be a stay at home parent, I have developed a longing to do something beneficial for the school district my children attend.

Upon the encouragement of several persons whom I respect, I have come to the conclusion that serving as a Trustee for the South Bay Union School District would provide the opportunity to postitively influence our already successful school district.

I have been a resident of Humboldt County since 1976, and desire to reside here for the rest of my life. I believe that part of what makes a community such as ours so appealing to live in is the quality of our schools. By furthering the excellence already established, our children will be better equipped to make positive contributions to our society as they mature.
