SAFETY · Comprehensive community policing programs, including the re-strengthening of Neighborhood Watch programs · A housing subsidy program to reward police officers who live in the communities that they serve · Strengthen ailing fire and paramedic programs, and hire more 911 operators to handle current call volume · Systemic police reform, including tracking civilian complaints and appropriate support for whistleblowers

STREETS · Better anti-graffiti programs citywide · Reduction of commuter traffic in residential neighborhoods · Projects that improve pedestrian and cyclist safety · More funding for the spaying and neutering of animals and better adoption programs in city shelters

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT · Smart growth policies that promote local jobs, affordable housing and accessible transportation for workers · Promotion of public van and small bus lines to bring residents to neighborhood shops and restaurants · Creation of "village green" developments at Red Line stations in the district · The designation of an artists district to help foster and keep creative professionals in the district

ENVIRONMENT · Creation of new park spaces and recreational opportunities for children and youth · The revitalization and proper maintenance of existing parks, reservoirs, and the Los Angeles River · Seed funding for local farmers markets and community gardens · Implementation of city policies that foster use of alternative fuels and alternative modes of transport

CONSTITUENTS BILL OF RIGHTS · The right to an open and transparent process for community development, parks, and transportation decisions · The right of all constituents to speak to a staff member at the City Hall and district offices during business hours · The right of all constituents to have calls to the Council office returned within 3 business days · The right of all constituents to meet with their councilmember at weekly "open hours"
