Crime Reduction - Targeted Neighborhood Teams ("TNT")By Frank M. TavelmanCandidate for City Attorney; City of Los Angeles | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
It is important for the City Attorney, the police and the community to work together to focus on community problems revolving around crime. This program, which is based upon a very successful program from the San Diego City Attorney, will make help reduce crime.Project "TNT" © (Targeted Neighborhood Teams) Reduce Crime The #1 goal of all City government is to make Los Angeles a safe place to live and raise a family. Crime reduction is therefore my #1 goal as the Los Angeles City Attorney. If we are not safe to walk our streets, or to have our children safe in school and while they play, then Los Angeles will not maintain its reputation as one of the finest cities in which to live.
Project TNT is my plan to achieve this goal. TNT, the "Targeted Neighborhood Team" of the City Attorney's Office will be a joint effort between primarily three groups: (1) Community leaders; (2) Experienced City prosecutors; (3) Police. Only through the joint efforts of these three groups can we hope to achieve the goals of crime reduction. TNT members will identify criminal concerns for specific communities, make a plan to eliminate that criminal activity, and follow through with achieving that goal. As the next L.A. City Attorney I have a commitment to effectively unifying the community, the police and City Attorney prosecutors. The end result will be a more efficient solution to making our streets safer. This is just one of my specific programs to make Los Angeles a better place to live. Please read more about QUEST and LIMIT, and please vote for me on April 10th.
