Why I am running for City Council

As we enter into a new millennium, and decade, we as citizens of the City of Patterson must be careful to maintain both natural and man made resources. As the City grows our city government must be sure to have the needed water, sewer and manpower to maintain the quality of life we have all become accustomed to.

I believe I can make a difference, based on the fact that I live here, work here, and raised here and care about the future of the City of Patterson.

Growth is here, we all know that and accept that, which means more than ever, we must monitor the activity within the City. We must continue to maintain the existing parts of the City and not neglect them. And at the same time continue to grow. A tough act, but it can be done.

We must study and monitor the availability of our most precious natural resource, WATER. We must maintain our sewer system to handle all the growth, most importantly, never get behind in updating and maintaining our Emergency Services, Fire # Police # Ambulance.

We must also strive to provide activities for our young people. Well run and educated programs for our youths will only improve the life style of the citizens throughout the city. Also, activities for our seniors are well past due. Speaking of our seniors, I believe the city has not worked as hard as it could in planning and supporting affordable senior housing. The last senior housing project in the city goes back to the 70' when El Solyo Village was created. The city must assist the seniors, in planning, developing and the implementation of affordable senior housing within the City of Patterson.

We must bring back the "Common Sense to Government" approach.

In closing, one of the main reasons for seeking this position (Council Member) is to continue the high quality of life that this city has given to me while growing up within the City of Patterson.
