Candidate for
Member of the State Assembly; District 72

Dr. Nanjundappa has been a professor of Sociology at California State University, Fullerton for more than 27 years. As an educator, he has devoted his career to preserving quality and affordability of access to education for our students in the California State University system, the largest higher education system in the Nation. In addition, Nanjun has been an active voice for more than 20,000 faculty in the CSU system in terms of preserving quality of life and working conditions.

A resident of the 72nd Assembly District for the entire 27 years he has worked for CSU Fullerton, Dr. Nanjundappa has had innumerable opportunities to meet and interact with people in the district. He is very familiar with the people, the issues they care deeply about, and the change in demographics in the district. As we make transition to the 21st century, we must deal with new challenges in order to ensure a better future and quality of life for all people.

In his campaign, Nanjun is deeply committed to addressing the most fundamental issues. These issues include improving the quality of public education from kindergarten through the university level, access to quality and affordable health care including reducing the number of uninsured and underinsured, and making our neighborhoods and schools free from gun violence.

Working together, with citizens, community leaders, state legislature, and our governor, we can responsibly and effectively resolve these issues, and others in a timely manner.
