EXERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AT WORKBy Erthia L. JohnsonCandidate for Governing Board Member; Grant Joint Union High School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I am convinced that the Grant District can and must do a better job of educating our students. The District must provide staff with the support necessary to produce students of excellence. As an incumbent, a concerned citizen, an active community leader, a 35 year resident of the Grant district, a retired Federal Government Employee and a former employee of the Grant District I beleive that we must restore and protect those leadership qualities which once made Grant Joint Union one the most respected High School Districts in the state of California. Both teachers and students must be provided with the tools to do their respective jobs. Class size reduction and adequate salaries for our teachers must be priortized. The over profileration of cabinet level administrators must come to an end. As we increase classrooms we must also increase classified staff to maintain and keep them clean. We are constantly losing experienced staff to other areas because our salaries in most cases lag behind those of other districts. We do not need to be in the middle of the salary range between districts we should be atop of it. I have every intention of working to get adequate salary increases for both certificated and classified staff. On November 7th mark your ballot for ERTHIA L. JOHNSON. Thanks for your vote and continued support. |
