Install Internet Filters on Childrens Computers
After much community outcry, John Paul Ledesma was finally able to get the council to vote for two of our library childrens computers to have internet filters. Even while approving them, council members were protesting their need.
Speakers came in from churches, PTA's, civic groups, and children. Letters went to the editors of newspapers, and by an overwhelming majority, filters were the desired method of protecting children from unwanted pornography. The work that John Paul began should be completed when a new majority joins the City Council in December 2000. There is no reason
for any library computer to have access to pornography. I will vote for filters.
