Frank Egger, a San Francisco native, has been a Marin resident since 1959. Though a city resident, Frank spent most of his free time growing up in Marin and Sonoma counties; either in Fairfax, on the Coast or the Russian River area. He lived in Santa Rosa in the late 50's, graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College, and was a member of the National Championship Santa Rosa Campions Drill Team. As a 60's activist, he fought to stop the dam on the EEL River at Dos Rios. He is a co-founder of Friends of the EEL River and currently a member of its Board of Directors. Frank was a campaign leader of California's defeated Anti-Nuclear Initiative Proposition "15" in the 70's and remains involved in the anti-nuclear movement. Frank has been married for 39 years to Ronita Sundin a former Santa Rosa resident; one grown daughter, Lauren(Lori) Egger-McPhaul and two grandchildren, Jenna and Chase. A 6 time Mayor of Fairfax, Frank is serving in his 9th City Council term and is currently the longest serving councilmember in the state of California. He is a Director and founding Board Member of the Ross Valley Paramedic Authority providing paramedic services to 4 cities and 3 fire districts. Frank was an original Proposition 20 Coastal Commissioner and served San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma Counties on the North Central Coast Regional Board from 1972 to 1981. He served on the Golden Gate National Recreation Area Board of Control for their transportation study in the late 70's. Frank served on the original Sonoma/Marin 101 Corridor Action Committee, and today serves on the Marin County Congestion Management Agency . He is also a member of Marin's Telecommunications Agency. Frank works for Earthgrains Bakery at their Cotati distribution center. He is a union (Local # 484) vice-president and has served as a North Bay representative for working men and women in the bakery industry for over 10 years. He is a delegate to the North Bay Labor Council. Frank is a named plaintiff against the Sonoma County Water Agency in the Russian River diversion litigation and their proposal to continue the Eel River diversion and increase their current Russian take from 65,000 acre feet to 101,000 acre feet.
