Roger Niello was elected to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors on February 2, 1999 in a special election. He represents the 4th District, encompassing Antelope, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Gold River and Orangevale. As Supervisor, Mr. Niello also serves on: Criminal Justice Cabinet, Sacramento-Placerville Transportation Corridor JPA, Sacramento Cable Commission, Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency, Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, Sacramento Public Library Authority, Area Four Agency on Aging, Sacramento Transportation Authority, and the Sacramento-Yolo Port District. Roger Niello was born in San Francisco in June of 1948. After graduating from Sacramento's Encina High School, he attended the University of California at Berkeley for his undergraduate studies, then moved to Southern California to complete his graduate studies at University of California, Los Angeles. Roger worked as a Certified Public Accountant from the Fall of 1971 through the Spring of 1974. He joined his family's business at the Niello Auto Group in 1974. He became president and secretary/treasurer of Niello Lincoln-Mercury/Audi/VW and Niello BMW in Sacramento, as well as vice-president and secretary/treasurer of Niello Acura and Porsche in Sacramento and Niello Infiniti in Concord. His past service includes Honorary Chair of Junior Achievement in 1997, president of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce in 1995, member of the Capital Area Political Action Committee from 1993 to 1996, and chair of the California State University Sacramento President's Associates in 1994. Roger and his wife, Mary, have five children and reside in Fair Oaks. |
