Full Biography for Eric D Storey
Candidate for |
Eric Storey is passionate about Burlingame. He volunteers at McKinley Elementary School and manages the dads club. He has attended many city hall sponsored meetings and committees. Eric is a volunteer Community Advisory Committee member of Envision Burlingame, which is tasked to seek the public's input on their vision of what Burlingame will look like in the future. Eric moved to Burlingame a few years ago via San Francisco were lived for 14 years. He was a leading telecommunication technician at a high speed start-up. He worked tirelessly to build a telecom network from the ground up and was the go-to man when people needed technical troubleshooting advice. He attended night school and completed his college degree in Bachelors of Arts at San Francisco State University. At that time, Eric got involved in local politics and supported same sex marriage rights before it was widely accepted. Eric began his public service in 1993. He joined the United States Air Force and served in Europe and Asia. He held a Federal Level Government Top Secret (Level III) Clearance. He worked on National Security circuits from Europe and Asia to the United States. Eric is involved in the local Bay Area veteran community. Eric serves as a nonprofit member of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) at McKinley Elementary School. He volunteers his time to manage the dads club and organize movie nights, BBQ's, and community building among the parents. Eric is a supporter of introducing a Just Cause Eviction Ordnance in Burlingame. Renters have no protection at all and can be evicted from their units with no just cause. If you are a property owner, you are protected by a 30 year fixed mortgage, proposition 13, and able to write off interest rates, which is a taxpayer subsidy. Eric is a strong supporter of city hall land remaining in public hands. The "powers that be" authorized the city manager to look for a developer to do a quid pro quo deal to give city hall land away in exchange for a free city hall on an underutilized parking lot. Eric argues that city hall land would make an excellent park in an area of high density. Most renters and condo owners do not have a backyard for man's best friend, kiddos, and adults to play in. Eric would be the first middle class renter to be elected to Burlingame City Council in decades. Vote Eric Storey for City Council 2015! |
