RESTORE INTEGRITY. RESORE ACCREDITATION.

Exhibit Fiscal Responsibility - Voters have time and time again put funds toward supporting City College. I want to ensure that voter approved bonds are used as intended for technology, campus and classroom maintenance, hiring adequate levels of faculty and classified staff, and student support services to ensure that students can thrive in today's economy. In 2012 voters overwhelmingly passed a parcel tax to fund what City College needed most and Special Trustee Bob Agrella used that money to instead give administration a 20% raise and that's unacceptable. The Board of Trustees clearly had it's misgivings, but is City College better off now than it was then?

Preserve A Clear Pathway to Jobs - San Francisco needs and deserves a City College that continues to serve as a gateway to opportunity. We must preserve the academic pathways to careers in vital industries such as Nursing, Construction Trades, Fire Science, and Hospitality & Culinary Arts. These pathways are a foundation of San Francisco's economy and status as a world class city. Businesses have to invest in be a good neighbor and make a measurable attempt to develop win-win solutions for the both the business community and students.

Stand Up for Our Values and Social Justice We need to revaluate how we enforce Student Success Act reforms that actually create a barrier for students. City College should be a means to uplift people out of poverty, not to punish them for the socioeconomic circumstances that they are trying to overcome. I owe so much to the second chance support services that I once received, I want to ensure that our students in programs like EOPS, Guardian Scholars, and HARTS have the ability to achieve their higher education goals with dignity.
