? 1. What do you see as the biggest issue facing San Francisco? As Supervisor, what would you do to handle it?

Answer from Julie Christensen:

My first priority has been protecting our existing tenants and housing stock and looking for new and creative ways to add housing in District 3, especially for families, seniors and the middle class.

? 2. What would you do to address affordable housing in San Francisco?

Answer from Julie Christensen:

I have stopped more than 25 evictions since taking office; passed a measure at the Board of Supervisors supporting tighter restrictions on Ellis Act evictions; introduced successful legislation adding new rent controlled in-law units to our District 3 housing stock, the first rent controlled units to be added since 1979; and I'm fighting to include senior and middle-income housing at 88 Broadway.

? 3. What are your qualifications for office?

Answer from Julie Christensen:

Leading up to my appointment, I spent more than twenty years leading community projects as a volunteer, including parks, libraries and transit improvements.

As Supervisor, I've taken that same dedication, problem-solving approach, and stakeholder involvement model to work on some of our most challenging issues of the day. These issues include housing security and affordability; public and pedestrian safety; expansion and improvements to public transit; cleaner, safer streets; and parks and libraries improvements.
