Dear Friends and Neighbors, I've been involved with the Dixie District for ten years. When my son, Will, attended Dixie Elementary I spent many hours on multiple Can Do campaigns, served on the Arts Council, and volunteered in the classroom. Will graduated from Miller Creek but I will have another child entering the District in a few short years and want to make sure Dixie's excellent tradition continues! After nine years of leadership on the Marinwood CSD board and six years of community service with the SF-Marin Food Bank, I'm asking local friends to support my candidacy for the Dixie School District's Governing Board on November 3rd! Our terrific school district needs experienced governance and I will work hard to maintain its excellence. Since 2006, I've been a Director of the Marinwood CSD working to improve our parks, recreation, and fire services by creatively increasing funding, making management more efficient, and saving or reducing long-term debt. Collaborating with our commissions, neighbors, and partners has made that possible. I've also supported families in need as an SF-Marin Food Bank board member since 2009 focused on fundraising and financial oversight on the development and audit committees. Similar to Dixie, we have a $20M budget that requires careful review and is pressured by increased annual demand. As an architect, I understand building projects, capital needs, and infrastructure work. All of this experience will contribute to serving the District and the growth pressures we currently face. I appreciate your vote and the opportunity to serve our families. Sincerely, Bill Hansell PS - Please reach out to me at anytime to discuss our schools and your questions or concerns: billhansell@gmail.com or 415-378-9064 |
