Candidate for
Board Member; Dixie School District

Having worked as an elementary school teacher for 13 years and as a licensed marriage and family therapist for over 20 years, I have focused on the importance of healthy environments for children and families. I'm running because I believe an excellent education system is central to our community's health.

We bought our home here over 30 years ago, attracted by the high quality of education in the Dixie School District. Now that we're seeing some changes in our district, with seniors moving out and families with young children moving in, I want to focus on sustainable long-term planning. It is vital that the board sets the direction to maintain and, if necessary, expand our excellent Dixie School District.

I have been a director of my local homeowners' association for more than 18 years and chosen as president for more than 10. I have always sought to achieve fair and financially prudent management decisions over the issues we face and I will bring that same sense of balance and collaboration to the Dixie School Board.

Since I am semi-retired, I have the time to work closely with our families, children, teachers and administration, as well as the wider community, to achieve the highest level of educational standards that our children deserve and that all of us want.

I have had a lifelong involvement with children, as a mother, grandmother, teacher and family therapist. I am not invested in any one element of the school system.

I will invest in the school system as a whole. I'm running for the opportunity to influence the dialogue in a positive way and work towards meaningful results in the classroom.

Since I have been regularly attending open school board meetings and workshops for the last two+ years in order to familiarize myself with the workings of the district, I am uniquely qualified to be a trustee and will be ready to serve from day one. I respectfully ask for your vote.
