1. What is the most important changes you would like to see in your district and why?
|
Answer from Barbara Angeli Owens:
My 36 year career experience in the Tamalpais Union High School District provides a rich foundation to focus on student learning, achievement and well-being. I care deeply about preserving the quality of public education.
We can establish policies and procedures that respect and honor the capacity and talents of our professional staff to work with students and each other.
I am a parent with the experience to support the special needs and abilities of all students.
Solving complex issues requires inclusion and collaboration with all stakeholders and experts. Together we can develop authentic assessments that align subject matter and create consistent, challenging opportunities for all students.
This district has traditionally benefited from a community that values high levels of excellence for student and professional performance. This community deserves the best value and accountability for its investment in its children.
It is time to restore transparency in the way we run our schools.
It is time to work with our teachers.
It is time to work together to provide the best possible education for our young people.
I urge you to vote for me, Barbara Owens, and bring trust back to our school system.
